Weekly Giveaway Round Up – 3/13/15

Weekly Round Up of Giveaways - Sewers & Quilters @ Wowilikethat.comHi All,

Friday the 13th is a lucky day for sure because there are 158 current giveaways going on today for sewers, quilters and all around crafters. That is a lot of giveaways, my fingers would be hurting if I sat and entered them all at one time.  It is too many to enter all at once, so be sure to check daily for new giveaways.  If you enter a couple a day, it isn’t that bad. And you never know what you might win. There are tons of great things on the list again.  A commercial embroidery machine, an extension table for quilting, oodles of beautiful fabrics, lots of books and so much more.

I won last week and it came this week. I was thrilled I won but not nearly as thrilled as I was when I opened the package. I had no idea it was so darn cute. It is beyond cute. These were so incredibly adorable.  I won the prize bundle from Believe Magic. I got 3 patterns. 2 patterns came with the fabric faces to make 12 gals in each. A bag of small pieces of fabric for the dresses. A roll of little ruffle skirts and a bunch of buttons. Beautiful buttons. I couldn’t wait to get started on it. I have the little quilt done and I’ll start on the girl tomorrow. Honestly, neither her blog nor her Etsy shop capture how overwhelmingly lovely these patterns are. You can see her Etsy shop here.

In the Quilt Shop - Quilt Pattern

I also won a bundle of 15 fat quarters this week.  They didn’t arrive yet. I was excited about that too.

I hope you won too. If so, write me, let me know what you won. I love hearing and sharing your joy.

As always, take time to look around the blogs where you are entering the giveaways. You may just become their newest, biggest fan with all the abundance of talent out there.

The Giveaway List can be found here or at the top of the page. Good Luck.

See you next time,

Debbie

Weekly Giveaway Round Up – 3/6/15

giveaway round up @ wowilikethat.com

Hi All,

Wow, what a good week. 120 current giveaways going on today. Some end today so get scrolling and enter those that are ending soon.  You can always come back and get the rest of them.  Remember that I update the list daily so new giveaways are being added every day.  I don’t do a blog post with the updates so you won’t know about new giveaways unless you come daily and check.  Use the old fashion bookmark system and check daily.

There are some really good things on the list this week. There is a commercial embroidery machine, a top of the line sewing machine, tons of beautiful fabric, notions, books, patterns and other great things. 120 is a lot of giveaways to enter but it can be done.

I don’t usually enter all the giveaways. I only enter the ones that I will use. It could be a great giveaway but if I don’t think I would use it, I don’t enter so that someone else will have a better chance of winning.  I have too much stuff now. I would love to be one of those people who only have 100 things. I would be perfectly content with only 100 things not counting my sewing things. The people who truly only live with 100 things don’t have a fabric addiction. I’m sure you can relate.

I did win again last week. It was a surprise bundle and I can’t wait. I’ll let you all know what I got. If I can’t use it, I’ll be giving it away myself. I was again just thrilled that I won.

As always, be sure to look around the blogs and websites where you are entering the giveaways. You may become their new biggest fan. Looks of talented gals and guys out there.

The Giveaway List can be found here or at the top of the page. Best of luck to you. Hope you win.

See you next time.

Weekly Giveaway Round Up – 2/27/15

Weekly Round Up of Giveaways - Sewers & Quilters @ Wowilikethat.comHi All,

Another great week for giveaways. 115 current giveaways going on today for sewers, quilters and crafters. I know it is 115 because I wrote it down this time. The older I get, the more my memory slips and that is why I believe God made paper and pens. My trusty little notepad is definitely my friend.

There is a sewing machine up for grabs, oodles of beautiful fabrics, great books and notions.

One of my favorite things that I can across this week besides all the wonderful, generous giveaways was this quilt. I love it. It is made by Jess Toye Quilts and she includes the template for the pin and a tutorial to make the quilt. Next baby that comes in my path is getting one of these.

I was lucky again this week and was the winner of a giveaway. I won the below quilt pattern from Lindsay Sews. I love it and I love her choice of pretty bright colors. I’ll be making this too. Thanks Lindsay.

Glass Half Full II Quilt

Hope you won this week too. If not, keep trying. You can’t win if you don’t enter. As always, be sure to look around the blogs where you are entering the giveaways, you are likely to find a few new favorite spots to visits.

The Giveaway List can be found here or at the top of the page. Good Luck!!!

120 Free Modern Quilt Patterns

120 Free Modern Quilt Patterns @ wowilikethat.com

I love Modern Quilts. I do. I do. I do. Because I do, I’ve hunted down 120 free modern quilt patterns. I have searched blogs and websites to find the best free modern quilt patterns. I’ve read each post and page to insure all instructions appear to be complete and accurate. Free is fun and a great way to expand your skills without spending money.

I like my lists to grow and I can’t keep them all in one place on a post so I have been updating my pages on the top of the page. The 120 free quilt patterns are listed there.  You can see the list here or at the top of the page under Free Tutorials and Patterns > Modern Quilting Patterns – Free.  As I find more I will continue to add new patterns to the list. Looking for a new quilt pattern, be sure to look at the Modern Quilting Pattern list first.

I’m still updating pages, but feel free to poke around and see what is new. I’m making some changes and will keep you posted on what is new and helpful.

Also as a side note, giveaways had been slow over Christmas but things are picking up again. There were so few giveaways last week that I didn’t post a Giveaway Round Up but it will be back this weekend. Today I added 11 new giveaways so be sure to stop by and look. You can win if you don’t enter. You can find the Giveaway List here or at the top of the page.

Happy New Year to all.

See you next time,

Debbie

Sewing & Quilting Apps – Who Knew?

Sewing & Quilting Apps @ wowilikethat.com

Hi All,

I didn’t know there were apps for sewing and quilting until a couple of weeks ago when I stumbled upon one.  I can’t say I’m an expert in apps since I only got a smartphone a couple of months ago. To tell the truth I really would rather have my flip phone back as my phone. That flat screen on the smartphone has me calling people I don’t want to call without me even know I’m calling them. Constantly. Oh well I look at it as if I’m catching up on everyone.  Want me to call you all the time? Want me to call you everyday?  If so, send me your number to put in my phone. The Chinese restaurant is getting tired of answering my calls so maybe you can take their place for a while. Just a thought. :)

Anyway, I did a post a couple days ago about this but for the life of me couldn’t get the spacing correctly. Or rather WordPress couldn’t get it correct so I didn’t post. Also I figured I would try some out myself before posting them. The ones I like are all free.

I’ve installed the Jo-Ann Fabrics app. Love it. You can read about it here. What I like is that the weekly flyer is always with me to view as well as their coupons.  No more being out and not being able to go to Jo-Ann’s because I forgot my coupon. I do that. If I don’t have my coupon, I won’t shop.  That problem has been solved with the app. Jo-Ann’s will also text you coupons if you sign up for the text messages.  You can find that info on one of their flyers.  I’ve been getting the texts for ages, even on my old flip phone.  It is only one coupon though and my Jo-Ann’s will let me use several at a time. I like to have a stash.

I also installed Missouri Star Quilt Company app. I love, love, love it. It has their blog and tons of videos. I watched a video the other day of Eleanor Burns of Quilt in a Day fame. It was wonderful. While I’m waiting for something, I can be productive and learn something new. You can read about the app here.

The 3rd app I installed was The Quilters Little Helper by Robert Kaufman. It is wonderful. It lets you calculate how much fabric you need for a project. You can read more about it here.

The last one I’ve installed to date is Craft Pricing Calculator. It lists variables for a project including your time and your hourly wage and calculates what you should charge if you are selling your homemade goods. No more guessing. Love it. You can read about it here.

Check them out, you may love them too. Also send me your phone # so I can bother you daily. If you have any sewing or quilting apps, send them along and I’ll try them out and post about them too.

See you next time.

Debbie
